VERITY MOD OVERVIEW
What is the Verity Mod?
Verity began as a character in ThatMob's scripted Minecraft horror series and later became playable through separately maintained Java and Bedrock projects. Each implementation gives the helper character its own dialogue, behavior, progression, and horror events.
Minecraft Java players use Verity JE as a loader-based JAR mod. Minecraft Bedrock players import an .mcaddon project. Those formats are not interchangeable, so choosing the edition is the first step before any download or setup.
The supernatural story is fiction; the later community software is real third-party code.
Java documents Groq and local Ollama options; Bedrock connection methods vary by project.

A recognizable name or screenshot is not enough. Match the creator, project ID, edition, game version, loader or file type, and release history before installing.

01 Is Verity a real Minecraft mod? +
Yes. Verity JE is a public CurseForge project by VarmiteYT with ThatMob listed as an author. CurseForge also hosts separate Bedrock add-on projects. A real listing does not make every mirror or similarly named file safe.
02 Where should I download Verity JE? +
Use the publisher's Verity JE release pages on Modrinth or CurseForge. The current Forge release is available through Modrinth, while the NeoForge option opens its CurseForge file page. Match the Minecraft version, loader, and filename before installing.
03 Which Minecraft Java versions are supported? +
The public Verity JE project currently lists Forge for Minecraft 1.20.1 and NeoForge for Minecraft 1.21.1. The project warns that its NeoForge 1.21.1 branch is deprecated and has many bugs.
04 Is there a Verity add-on for Minecraft Bedrock? +
Yes. CurseForge currently lists independent .mcaddon projects including Verity BE by Undertaletalelover and Verity — Bedrock Edition by PnTMC. They are separate from the Java JAR and require their own setup instructions.
05 Does Verity use AI or need an API service? +
The Java project describes Groq-powered AI and also documents a local Ollama setup. Its page says AI text supports multiple languages, while speech-to-text and text-to-speech were tested only in English.
06 Should I back up my worlds before installing? +
Yes. Use a separate test profile and back up any world you care about before adding a large or unfamiliar mod. A clean profile also makes conflicts easier to diagnose.
